Much of the jungle is under the protection of government agencies, who seek to showcase the beauty and mystery of Perak's wildlife to visitors, while safeguarding its natural environment. All manner of jungle tours are available, from casual family day trips to intense backpacking and rafting expeditions which will test even the heartiest of outdoor adventurers.
While predominantly recognized for its orangutan population, Perak's jungles are home to countless species of animals not found anywhere else on earth, as well as the mysterious rafflesia, the largest flower on the planet. The jungles have even had their fair share of "bigfoot" sightings!
Make your homebase either Taiping or Ipoh and you won't have to sleep overnight with the other jungle residents.
